Support #BlackOwned

Today we are announcing that we purchased something from LemLem, an artisan-driven collection of women’s, men’s, children’s and home goods made entirely in Africa. Supermodel Liya Kebede was inspired to launch the brand following a trip to her native Ethiopia where she met a group of traditional weavers who no longer had a market for their craft. We encourage you all to do anything you can to support the Black Lives Matters movement, whether it be a vote, a phone call to elected officials, petitions, protests, donations, purchases and posting messaging from the black community. Support Black Organizations, Businesses & Creators

Posts are not enough, do the research, do the work. Support black businesses, artists and organizations.  Looking for a beauty brand that actually knows what nude is? Hint Hint, it’s a huge range and it isn’t centered around “peach”. Today we purchased something from Mented Cosmetics, which is an inclusive line of color cosmetics. Founders KJ and Amanda are so incredible. They’re donating a portion of every sale this month to support protestors around the country and giving all their employees every Friday off so they can prioritize their mental health. If that’s not true leadership, we don’t know what is! Image via the beautiful Sarah Mae | @its.sarahmae XO, Henry

#AmplifyMelanatedVoices

Today we have donated money to Equal Justice Initiative, which is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society. To donate to EJI yourself, we urge you to use this PayPal link since they waive the merchant processing fees. Hence, more money goes to the charity. We will be donating to a new #BlackLivesMatter organization or business every day this week and posting the resource here. More to come beyond that. Let’s all do what we can. Something, anything. XO, Henry
